I've hoarded plenty of old pinball boards over the years. Typically these "mystery condition" boards are something that broke, someone tried to fix or hack, failed and it ended up in a pile to wait if anyone would have time to look at them some point.

The narrator: That day never came.

Here's a curious one. Oh pinrepair person of the past, what problem were you fixing by adding this huge DIY heat sink onto this transistor? Was it some high action coil that kept burning transistors? Did the machine do something funny randomly? I guess we'll never know. But the previous transistor had burned so bad it had left marks on the PCB.

Kabeaushé

Paradiso, Thursday, October 29 at 10:00 PM GMT+1

Explosive pop music with influences from hip-hop and rock

Kabeaushé transforms pop music into an explosive, all-encompassing experience. Born in Nairobi and now based in Berlin, the artist moves effortlessly between hip-hop, art pop, rock, electronic music and theatre. His shows feel like an overwhelming trip full of bombastic soundtracks, sharp visuals and raw energy, in which influences from film, classical music and club culture converge. His work has previously featured in series such as ‘Queenie’ and ‘How To Sell Drugs Online (Fast)’, and his intense live shows have taken him to festivals such as Roskilde, the Reeperbahn Festival and Rock En Seine.

With his new album ‘KABEAUSHÉ PRESENTS: IGGY SWAGGERING UNGRATEFUL INCESSANT LITTLE PEEEAAAAAAAA’, Kabeaushé continues to build his extravagant universe around the fictional character Herr Iggy, a paranoid despot who tries to cling to his power at all costs. The music sounds simultaneously grand, chaotic and emotional, with dramatic orchestrations, distorted beats, falsetto vocals and explosive energy.

I tried JLCPCB's aluminium PCBs for the first time. Not as a PCB, but to create a front panel for my SO2R controller project (SO2RMiniPlus). I love the result and it is too cheap to be true (even if you consider that about 15% of the alu boards will have imperfections on the silk screen) #hamradio #electronics

#Guitar #electronics topic. I just realized that when you have a series/parallel DPDT switch for your humbucker pickup, there is a way for a tone control to be hooked up so that it is only active in parallel mode, and disabled in series mode.

We put the tone control between the two coils; i.e. on the series link terminals. In series mode, that connection is shorted, which bypasses the tone control, rendering it ineffective. In parallel mode, those coil terminals separate: one goes to ground, one goes to hot: and in between there is where our tone circuit lives: it is enabled.

This is perfect because regardless of how you set up the tone for parallel mode for your cleans, with just one switch you get to your hot mode for shred, unaffected by your tone control.

(Obviously, this is either for a one-pickup guitar, or for a special dedicated tone control for that one pickup, separate from a master tone control.)
