Der Reisverschluss meiner Regenjacke war defekt. Das typische Problem. Ging unten immer wieder auf. Eine Reparatur in gängigen Outdoor Geschäften hätte mich 70€ gekostet. Da die Beschichtung an einigen Stellen schon abgeht war es mir das nicht wert. Für 6€ hab ich im Internet einen neuen Schieber für den Reisverschluss bekommen. Problem ist damit gelöst. Benötigtes Handwerkliches Geschick so etwa 4/10. also war echt leicht. Wieso wurde mir sowas nicht im Laden angeboten? #reparatur #repair

In today’s #repair news, gave a customer honest feedback on his amplifier repair situation. Lovely 90’s ‘high end’ pioneer kit, with a blown amplifier chip (no longer available as original, only shite reproductions/fakes). I *could* fix it, but at the cost of several hundred pounds. He has accepted the fate (he’s disappointed but has already spent hundreds for a company to bodge it and scarper). Generously, he is giving it to me for spares. #repaircafe #hifi #fix #notfixed

I used the tap (faucet) reseating tool from my local #MenzShed. No more dripping, no trip to hardware shop required. Cost $0

Attempt no. 2 at gluing back a broken hair crimper, after the previous attempt failed. (Pattex Total glue has so far not been reliable.)
Friend wanted to throw it out, but I wasn't going to let a good learning opportunity go to waste. (literally)  
It might be a cheap plastic piece of crap, but that means I can experiment on it all I want.
