TimI fixed my MIDI keyboard! So proud of myself. It just broke, the micro-B plug broke off the board. So re-soldered it crappily and then smothered it with superglue and it somehow still works!
Had my Akai LPK25 for at least 15 years. maybe more. Use it regularly now with Ableton Live Lite for chords and ideas.
The new one apparently has a better keyboard and internal clock. but is basically the same. But unlike this which was £25 or so, they are something like £40 now!

Lokales FahrradfahrenBeim #Bautreff letzten Freitag hatten wir einen zum ersten Mal einen externen Patienten: Bei einem #Peugeot #Tourmalet ist das rechte Ausfallende gebrochen.
Erstmal mit Öl gegen Rost geschützt, darf das Peugeot wieder auf die Straße und kommt dann nächsten oder übernächsten Bautreff zur #Nachkontrolle.
Ist dann alles gut, wird das Ausfallende wieder lackiert.

Twoowls Elt 🦉 🦉#Sonos play 3 on the bench today, with the well known psu fault caused by crap capacitors and poor design. Customer wasn’t keen to repair as the unit wasn’t worth much… but I suggested it would be better if it was repaired rather than thrown away, and I would do it for cost of components if they made a donation to our local scout group. KingfisherWe extended our deck to add some built in planter boxes, which involved pulling up all the old boards ….and instead of wasting the old boards and save some money, we made a stripey pattern of old/new boards. It will eventually even out in color as the wood ages, but for now it is very fun.

W6KMEThe failure was nothing more than 1/4" I.D. vinyl tubing. So I replaced that section of the unit. But it was one of the most miserable repairs I have every undertaken...the thing was clearly designed to prevent anyone getting their hands in there to repair or replace anything. I did it in the end, but with far too much bother, frustrations and (literally) blood.
I hate manufacturers like this. Ossur is the name. Great device, hateful company decisions about repair.
