Apparently it's time to start some seedlings, but the potting soil is a frozen block. Broke off a few chunks and put them in the house to thaw.

I’ve started 4 new #tubers in bags of #potting mix with drainage holes on the underside & a large diamond shaped opening on top for the plant to be watered & grow through.

Two of the plants that were in the tub have been replanted into bags of their own as well, but with square holes on top.

No reason for the hole shape change. 🤪

Photos later as my back is currently complaining about me carrying potting mix bags around & doing some bending.

Sigh. #gardening.

Big potting day today trying to get 14 plants (2 cuttings went to a friend) potted, photographed, tidy up, get frost cloth off etc.

I’m going big this week and next with ones I’ve really wanted before the money runs out and I’m out of space. It’s going to be tough to ignore the weekly sales going forward but I’m going to have to if I’m going to survive financially.

Next week will likely be my last plant mail post for a while. I’ll just have to post pics of the ones that are catching my eye instead! I’m waiting (impatiently) for my zygocactus to flower (only buds so far) so I’ll definitely be sharing when that happens!

Potting on has come up recently in conversation. I tend to pot on seedlings as early as I can, sometimes ones that only have the original leaves. This is because they can already have good roots that want space to grow.

Dark, grey, rain, windy and cold yesterday. Took shelter in the greenhouse and did some more potting on of vegetables and perennials. Heated potting shed would be the height of luxury for me :)
