This is another interesting cactus in the garden (a barrel cactus I just learned 😂 ) I can assure you that the spikes are like sharp needles.

I've learned, after living in Las Vegas for many years, that the average homeowner resists desert landscaping in favor of grass, but this type of landscaping can be absolutely beautiful, and requires very little water in contrast to grass.
