With the recent frosts my #Roselle & #JerusalemArtichoke plants are no more.
We do have loads of seeds from the Roselle, so we’ll do them again & we have a huge amount of chokes to eat. 👍
The only thing still going is my #PinkPanther #DragonFruit.

With all my #JerusalemArtichoke starting to give me tubers & knowing that I’ll have far more than we can ever eat - I did a search for #Punjabi #recipes that use chokes.
I found one! It replaces #waterchestnuts with the chokes.

So I’ve asked our #Sikh neighbours if they’d like some & after seeing the recipe, they’re happy to try them in their #meals. 👍

It looks like I’ll be harvesting #JerusalemArtichoke again today as another plant has turned yellow & is pushing up tubers.
Maybe the next generation will manage to get some real height & show me their flowers.
I just harvested the potted #JerusalemArtichoke that started to wither after the cool weather last week.
The others don’t appear to have been hit so hard & are looking healthy.
The first of the tubers just pulled from the top of a potted #JerusalemArtichoke.
I’ll do the rest tomorrow as my back allows.
In other #gardening news, the cool spell of late has some of my #JerusalemArtichoke turning yellow & looking very unwell.
BUT those same plants are pushing ‘choke tubers to the surface.
The cold snap looks like delivering us a very early harvest!🤗

34° Celsius & I’m down.
I’ve been #hydrating all day, taking #electrolytes with some of my water, but I go outside, give the #alpacas & #lambs some lucerne, then water the #Roselle & #JerusalemArtichoke - the next minute liquids are #spewing (the operate word) out of my mouth & I lose all sense of balance.
Naked under the fan now, a bucket beside me if more liquid wants to rush up my throat.
