One of the smaller native bees collecting pollen early on this hot start to spring. I wasn't prepared with my clip on macro lens. So I took a quick pic while trying not to disturb her. I think she may be a Halictus species iirc

We had some heavy winds last Friday. I knew there were some feral Western Honeybee hives in the area, but this was a first..the winds had dislodged some comb from high up in a dead tree. It was broken up into chunks, and a few bees were still busy--I think licking up and salvaging what they could. The comb pieces seemed mostly dry and empty by the time I stumbled across them. #nature #bees #insects #zone6b #zone7a

Bees are busy on the celendine bringing in lots of yellow pollen. All 6 very busy in this apiary. Not going through them yet just hefting for stores and checking for busyness. This unseasonably warm spell has given them a boost. 4 apiaries checked and all 4 pleasingly active. #bees #honey #honeybees

Die "Stadtbienen" geben regelmäßig Kurse zum ökologischen Imkern. Ich besuchte einen Schnupperkurs. Danach entschied ich mich gegen Bienenstöcke & beschloss, es den Wildbienen so angenehm wie möglich zu machen.
