Through ongoing outreach and storytelling, we’re inspiring others to create pollinator-friendly spaces and strengthening a culture of sustainability and inclusion in our neighbourhood.

Thanks to support from the City of Toronto’s PollinateTO grant, our Refugee Haven Pollinator Gardens have come to life as vibrant, educational, and inclusive spaces.
These gardens serve as living classrooms, with interpretive signage and guided tours through our Youth Network to teach about native plants, pollinators, and cultural connections to biodiversity.

#PacificRhododendron aka #CaliforniaRosebay, is native to coastal #PacificNorthwest areas, from California to British Columbia. It's the #StateFlower of #WashingtonState. They usually produce pink to peach coloured flowers.
It's found growing in the wilds of coastal forest areas. It's been cultivated into gardens here too. You can grow them from cuttings, taken from wild or ask for cuttings from local cultivated gardens.

Visuals of some local, suburban #rewilding efforts in #RoyalOak. Much of the area has been heavily developed. There's lots of fab rewilding work being done in some areas - almost all due to local volunteers/nature stewards & kind donations from public.
The efforts have paid off, after several decades of community volunteer efforts. Many wildlife & pollinators have safer habitat to live in. There's enough food for them to share in rewilded areas.
