I've always used manual focus or "selection" autofocus on my camera. But we have these lovely black carpenter bees nectaring at the sweet peas, and I'd love to catch one in flight.
I'm much too slow for manual or selection focus here, and if I try to focus on a plane and wait for them it'll take weeks (there are too many flowers for them to choose from).
So for the first time I'm trying "dynamic area" autofocus...
Small joys:
Have just spent the afternoon doing some weeding and ground prep in one corner of the kitchen #garden, with the constant buzzing of #bees nearby.
Only a handful of them as yet, but satisfying that there is already enough blooming to start getting them interested, and knowing there is a lot more to come.
When I came here, I said that I wasn't into #photography as much anymore and now I'm going to post some #photos I took in my new #garden :D
There's a huge bush, that I can't identify, because I don't now much about plants, but bees love it! (Looks like a kind of #elderflower though)
Btw, if this should have a CW for insects, let me know, I'll update the post.
Bees are such a win-win-win. These hives are in a clearing in Smithgall Woods State Park. They are maintained by Ally Bees Honey (who I highly recommend for local Georgia honey). They pollinate the wildflowers, native plants, and wildlife food plots…all while creating so much extra honey.
