I've been excitedly waiting all week to post these #FungiFriday from my garden. I'm told the big one is a Birch Polypore and the little white ones are called #Candlesnuffs - ❤️ this cute word!

Can anyone help me identify the species?

Oh YES! #Mosstodon

I can join in this one with my recent trip to the #celtic #rainforest of #Mull.

#EarthBuilding: On a recent 19th Century #retrofit project I discovered behind a thin layer of #lime, the plaster was a crumbly, lime stabilised #earth. Days later, replacing bathroom tiles in my 30’s semi - I found internal walls made from #straw blocks, bound by soft plaster. #NaturalBuilding materials are not fringe pursuits. From the many lump earth (#cob, #dabbins) buildings in Devon and Cumbria, to the more subtle use of #clay in #mortars & #plaster these materials are all around us.
Love living next to #AncientWoodland and being able to go out, even on damp and cloudy days, and find something spetacular.

I've recently been retrofitting insulation for a stone house in the Peak District. Wood fiber board (100mm) with lime plaster parge coat behind and 3 coats on the surface with a fine finish coat. Insulated reveals on the windows and insulated returns on the internal walls. Curved corners. Insulated below the floor to the ceiling of the room below and taped around all the joists to stop warm, moist internal air getting to the joist ends, cooling down and condensing.
