A lovely cool and refreshing, dappled walk this evening through Padley Gorge, a deep but narrow valley with rocky outcrops, waterfalls and beautiful ancient trees. I just read that its also one of the furthest inland examples of a temperate rainforest in the UK. Who knew!

Wizened moss woman
Once upon a time there was a wizened old woman who decided to say F this and live amongst mossy boulders and thick forest trees forever.
Only the birds sang and the trees swayed forever.
There was no outrage or random nastiness.
Soon she became covered with moss and melted into the forest. Her bones became branches and her skin lichen, seeds scattered from her and wild flowers.
