@Norobiik Israel's current position is not sustainable either in terms of public opinion or cost. So the longer Hamas can hold them there the better for Hamas.
The strategic plan appears to have been to destroy Israel's international standing and immunity from criticism. That has been successful.
Very true, Israel has hardly any friends left. Even the UK is inching away bit by bit as the Gaza death toll mounts.
This is the guy that even hardcore Israeli intelligence says is 100% committed to the Palestinian cause (ie. he never cracked). And he's not tolerant of people who compromise with the IDF or security agencies either.
While still in prison, he held the face of one Palestinian fellow prisoner against a hot iron stove because of suspected collaboration with the Israelis.
