Back from a break and started implementing basic sound stuff to ease back into it. Goopy-goops now makes sounds when it moves! :) Interesting how being used to do Sound Design for linear media has me re-think a lot of things when doing it for interactive. Every sound has to be super self-contained and "modular". I'll record some progress video as soon as I have something! Still need to adjust somethings in regards to the core gameplay as well.

ThegnJøyFinally back to working on this! After some struggle to create a Blueprint that helps manage Water Leaks type VFX through the levels, here's the result for now! :) This allows me to easily have water dripping (from small few drips to rain-like stuff), toggle running water (water-fall type of thing), and the splashes effects can also be toggled and are automatically positioned at the end of the waterfall with the correct scaling, etc. #gamedev #realtimevfx #unrealengine #IndieGame #MastoArt

Implemented some dust vfx kicking up when doors Open/close. This is generic enough to accommodate for the door static mesh shape, particle system bounds, so it's always in the correct position even if I change the door mesh. #IndieGame #realtimevfx #gameart #gamedev

Been running around the clock to try get a build done for a small contest. Tough last 2days..☠️ .. hey! At least got things to a prettier stage and so far (been testing builds) got it to run at ~60fps on my not so powerful laptop! I'll update here w/ some imgs soon! Pheew! Time to get back to the "run" see if I can get this done in time to submit! 😅
Boop! Premature build sent! Now I need a couple days of rest, and then jump into making a nice tiny intro animation thing for the project. Lots to do still before it reaches a stage I'm happy with. Don't think I'll stand any chances of anything with the submission. But it made me do a lot of progress in a very short amount of time though, so there's that! I'll gather some posts to update what's new here in the next days.
I've never though I'd be able to do an even half-decent job for it, but today I've managed to record the voices for the cheesy 80's fantasy style narrator for the prototype intro and a a couple of lines for when the player dies... damn I'm so stoked with how these turned out! :D. Now failing those jumps should have a new meaning xD.

It's out! Released the prototype! Finally considering it done for now! Time to move on to the next one! There still a lot of things I would like to improve on this one.
