The railway is located in the Podlasie, in the village of P艂ociczno-Tartak (Suwa艂ki commune). Its route leads through the Wigry National Park and the August贸w Forest, to the village of Krusznik. There are viewing stops in interesting places along the route. The railway stops at the Binduga and Bartny D贸艂 stations and on the way back at the Powa艂y station. Passengers have 5 to 15 minutes to go to the viewing points from which there is a panorama of Lake Wigry. The length of the route in one direction is 9 km, and the total time of the trip is 2.5 hours. On the premises of the railway in P艂ociczno there is an inn and an amusement park. It is possible to order a train for organized groups all year round.
In 1991, the railway was entered into the register of historical monuments, as a valuable product of technology and as one of the longest operating forest railways in Poland.
