Today's garden walk.
Today's garden walk.
Good morning.
Bee magnet on the hillside. You hear nothing but them buzzing as you walk the path up the hill. #bloomsday #perennials
💥On Monday, XRI activists held a protest in Blackrock Village Centre in the pre-show leadup to a @zurich_ireland sponsored dramatised adaptation of James Joyce's Ulysses as part of @bloomsdayfest.
🔥It's outrageous that Zurich Life continues to invest our pension funds in fossil fuels this far into the climate crisis.
We're facing such a bleak future if we don't slash greenhouse gas emissions
We spent Bloom's day not in Dublin but in Galway, at Nora Barnacle Joyce's childhood home on Bowling Green street - it is a lovely, tiny museum now - two victorian rooms kept as they were, filled with photographs - we spent the afternoon drinking tea with lovely ladies and reading Molly's monologue (aka "Penelope") and Nora's letters. As much as we could, a feminist view of "Ulysses", far from the entertained crowds of Bloom and Daedalus odyssey.
Good night peregrinators!
Meanwhile, my true Penelope waits in her Bed, outside & unmoored from time.
I took a tragic misstep on my way back to Ithaca and lost its card! It seems I never shall return home.
