Marty CormackI am a little bit into Phenology, the study of cyclical or season natural phenomenon, but mostly during the transition from a long #Minnesota winter into spring. When I am on my daily bike rides, I am always on the lookout for signs of spring. Today was the first time in 2026 I rode past plants that are beginning to flower and bloom. On the Bear Creek Trail there is a yard with blooming Scilla Siberica and along the Zumbro North Trail there is a Forsythia starting.

RyanWhat was supposed to be a routine spring tune up has expanded into replacing the (worn) rear cassette, and the rear wheel (cracked in seven places) and the rear tire (bulge).
The bike has almost 5,000 miles on it, so that might be part of it, but the cracks in the rim? Yikes.
