First release of Dee is available via OpenRepos. Few features and many bugs, but hey, it's a start, isn't it?

It’s been interesting using #Rust from a #QtQuick application. There have been plenty of challenges (read "try and error"), especially with the CI (I’m blaming you, qmake). #SailfishOS #Lemmy

Vibe coding is making it possible for people with very little experience to build apps. QML on #sailfishos is simple enough to support that, but the cross-platform packaging side with the SDK is still pretty tricky.

So I put this together:

Install into the Codex home of your IDE, and it will know how to build and package your apps using Coderus' brilliant dockerized SDK. Hopefully it lowers the barrier a bit and helps more people turn their ideas into real apps.

@Loomy879 What about scanning QR codes? I read somewhere that #sailfishos doesn't let the camera focus in Android apps. As a result, banking apps or #itsme (Belgium's official e-identity app) are broken.
@GelatDeTramussos @spla home, tant iOS i tant Android. Com sou! Prioritat: #sailfishOS #tut 😂

I’ve been using SailfishOS on a Sony Xperia 10 III for about three weeks now. So far, I’m very satisfied with the usability, functionality, and Android AppSupport.

If Bluetooth and NFC (for payments in specific banking apps) could work reliably in Android apps, I’d say Sailfish can be used as a daily driver without major compromises.

With solid Bluetooth integration in Android AppSupport, I could even see myself switching completely and buying a Jolla phone.
Great work, #jolla & #sailfishos
