I am horrified at how so many people don't even bother to question or interrupt obviously warped rhetoric targeting people who are a bit different in ANY way. It is mainly flowing from US funded bigots and journalists working for billionaire-owned corporate media etc. but taps into deep seated ignorance and insecure need to feel superior to others.

We can do better than follow the USA down the shit-chute of supremacism. We've had so many deaths and genocides which began with such targeting, and ought to be wise to it, and know that the stereotyping rapidly spread to ALL types of person.

If you are a journalist, politicians, influencer or media personality spreading the hate, shame on you.

If you are a writer of any kind, it is time to be conscious, wiser than previous generations. Think twice before you spell out dystopian ways to harm others, because they WILL be imitated. Just expose the ways already in the public domain.

Casting the western hemisphere as "children of #Europe" fits very neatly into a #White #supremacist narrative. I don't think this is consciously what #Rubio was intending to express, but that's how #race functions once it becomes embedded in #society: it perpetuates through actions that feed into it because they're taken for granted as not being #racist.
