We study how epigenetic deregulation in cancer contributes to tumor initiation and progression. To address these fundamental questions, we develop and apply innovative cutting-edge single-molecule and single-cell technologies. The activity of genes and regulatory elements is modulated by their cell type-specific chromatin organization. Histone modifications and chromatin regulators play important roles in cellular differentiation and development.
I've been learning a handful of #Hebrew #Prayers because of #TheChosen, which is very interesting to me, seeing as I am utterly allergic to legalism in just about any form, and have never liked rote prayers.
In addition, I come from a cultural background where it's normal to say certain phrases rote in certain times, such as "May your hand not hurt" if someone serves you something, or "I hope you're not tired" if someone does something to help you. These are phrases repeated verbatim, with little variation, which convey a very simple meaning, "thanks."
I never liked those phrases. My attitude was, if you're going to say something poetic to me, you had better well mean it, otherwise, a simple "Thank you" will do.
But even with that, I find these prayers oddly refreshing and comforting, even though I'm really not a prayer-book kind of guy, by any stretch.
The morning prayer is called the "Modeh Ani:"
"I am thankful before You, living and enduring King, for you have mercifully restored my soul within me. Great is Your faithfulness."
The evening prayer is from the beginning of the "Bedtime #Shema:"
"Praised are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who brings sleep to my eyes, slumber to my eyelids. May it be Your will, Lord my God and God of my ancestors, that I lie down in peace and that I arise in peace."
Addendum:
I found another amazing morning prayer via #TheChosen:
"My God, the soul that you placed within me is pure. You created it, You formed it, You breathed it into me, and You preserve it within me. And in the future, You will take it from me and restore it in the Time to Come. All the time that this soul is within me, I am thankful before You, Hashem, my God and the God of my fathers, Ruler of all creation, Lord of all the souls. Blessed are You, Hashem, Who restores souls to dead bodies."

A related question. Is there any way to get the melody of the Sh’ma prayer out of one’s head? 😭

I suspect that one of the factors there is that the Jewish tradition(s) don't really thrive on or care much about #theology. There isn't a lot of Jewish doctrine to study.
This might seem counterintuitive, because there's a Jewish "orthodox" movement and a school called "Jewish Theological Seminary." But Jewishness is deeply #orthopractic.Theological consensus isn't very Jewish. Many Jews wouldn't even sign off on the #Shema. So be it.
