Ah, yes, nothing quite like a flat to wake you up properly on the morning commute
Ah, yes, nothing quite like a flat to wake you up properly on the morning commute

have I already made this post? not sure!
here is my ('new!') main form of transportation, Corvy, just nearly ready for the road. it's a smidgen too small for me, like really just a smidge. it has been garage-kept nearly its entire existence, before me, from what I can reckon. it is in excellent condition for a 40 year old machine.
brake and shift cables, grip tape, and tubes are changed so far, with tires, and saddle, coming next.
I’m looking for resources on #ebikes and could use some pointers to start. I used to be really into bikes and have a lot of ~opinions~ but know nothing about e-bikes, and cursory searches make it look like the options are limited and not very customizable.
Is it possible to take a normal bike and add electric assist to it? My optimal bike (which I’ve owned in the past) is a chromoly road cruiser with upright cruiser bars. I really don’t like riser bars (bad shoulders). I want to get a similar bike for my wife, but she has short legs and will need a step through frame and replacement cranks.
I’ve seen some bikes that fit this description, but I have no idea of how customizable their sizing or parts are, or what their long term durability is like. Does anyone have suggestions?
I've written a short update about my bicycle commuting on my little blog: https://www.martingunnarsson.com/posts/am-i-a-bicycle-commuter-now/

This week I finally ran out of excuses and rode my bike to work.
