This time, a Ricoh 500 G — a compact 35mm rangefinder from 1972.

Focused using a classic rangefinder system: set your distance, align the split image, and dial it in manually.

Manual f/stops give full control over exposure and depth of field.

Shot on Ilford HP5 Plus 400.

A dark figure cuts across an overexposed street, carrying bags in both hands, the stride stretched almost to abstraction.

What interested me here was the economy of it: silhouette, motion, pavement, glare. The city becomes a stage only because the gesture is strong enough to hold it together.
