The last active CBA for the ECHL expired in June 2025. In late December 2025, the PHPA informed its players that it could force players to stop work as early as December 26, 2025. There has been back and forth between the ECHL and the PHPA, but the two parties have yet to reach an agreement. As of December 26, the PHPA has forced the cancellation (or postponing) of games, including those that were scheduled for this weekend.
