Il Fatto Quotidiano: Flotilla Gaza, studenti di un liceo di Ancona in sciopero per il prof arrestato: “È un esempio per tutti noi”

Vittorio Sergi, professore del liceo classico Carlo Rinaldini di Ancona, è uno degli attivisti arrestato dalla Marina israeliana in acque internazionali mentre si trovava a bordo della Cactus, una delle imbarcazioni della missione umanitaria Global Sumud Flotilla diretta verso Gaza. Questa mattina, i suoi studenti si sono riuniti davanti ai cancelli dell’istituto per uno sciopero, chiedendo il rilascio immediato del loro insegnante di filosofia e scienze umane.
“Siamo sempre rimasti in contatto con lui, fino a poco prima dell’arresto. – spiega Teodoro Palpacelli, presidente del comitato studentesco – Ci ha sempre stimolato nelle nostre attività di partecipazione all’interno della scuola, è un grande esempio per tutti noi”. In mezzo ai giovani anche la mamma di due studentesse allieve di Sergi: “Sono qua perché quello che Israele sta facendo alla Flotilla, che sta portando avanti un’azione pacifica, è del tutto illegale. Momenti di protesta come questo sono importantissimi”.
Dopo due ore di presidio, che era stato annunciato ieri dal collettivo studentesco “Metropolis”, gli studenti si sono riuniti al parco della Cittadella per un’assemblea pubblica. “Condanniamo le ripetute violazioni del diritto internazionale da parte di Israele e ricordiamo del trattamento disumano che l’Idf riserva ai suoi prigionieri”, si legge sui profili social della scuola gestiti dagli studenti. I professori da parte loro hanno fatto una raccolta firme per chiedere la liberazione del collega. Le azioni sono volte anche a fare pressione sul preside della scuola perché consegni una lettera al ministero degli Esteri che chieda l’immediato rilascio del professore e degli altri prigionieri italiani.

Il Fatto Quotidiano: Flotilla, si imbarcherà anche il deputato M5s Dario Carotenuto: sarà l’unico parlamentare a bordo

Alla fine un parlamentare si imbarcherà. Dario Carotenuto, deputato dei Cinque Stelle, napoletano di 48 anni, papà di un bimbo, è partito stasera in aereo da Roma per Istanbul, con l’obiettivo di salire sulla Flotilla. “Ho deciso lunedì, perché trovo insopportabile quanto sta accadendo a Gaza” dice a il Fatto quotidiano poco prima di partire. Ma prima di prenotare il volo ha comunque sentito i responsabili della Flotilla. “Ho chiesto se potevo essere utile o se invece rischiavo di essere d’intralcio – spiega – Mi hanno risposto che gli sarei stato certamente utile”. Così ecco il viaggio per raggiungere la missione.
Una scelta dietro a cui c’è un’altra miccia, aggiunge il deputato: “Ha influito anche la circostanza che l’ultimo sequestro di imbarcazioni da parte della Marina israeliana sia stato fatto in Europa. Un fatto incredibile, che dimostra i livelli di complicità e di compromissione nei rapporti tra gli Stati occidentali e Israele”. Viene però da chiedersi come mai questa volta lui sarà l’unico parlamentare a bordo, a fronte dei quattro eletti che erano partiti lo scorso settembre. Carotenuto riflette e poi risponde: “Non so se resterò l’unico, ma in tal caso si dimostrerà ancora più necessaria la scelta di partire”. La certezza è che questa volta deputati e senatori non hanno sgomitato per imbarcarsi, anzi. Perché? “L’attenzione mediatica sulla Flotilla è indubbiamente calata” ammettono fuori taccuino diversi parlamentari, che si soffermano anche “sullo scarso preavviso” che avrebbero avuto dagli organizzatori a fronte di un’eventuale partenza. Mentre i rischi sono rimasti quelli della prima volta. Una combinazione di fattori che ha scoraggiato molti. E forse hanno pesato anche le critiche di Francesca Albanese sulla seconda missione: “La Flotilla è un simbolo, non deve diventare un fine in sè. Un movimento senza direzione è caos. Piuttosto, servono azioni dirette a porre fine alle complicità”.

Il ministero degli Esteri israeliano ha reso noto che i due attivisti della Global Sumud Flotilla, Saif Abukeshek e Thiago Avila, arrestati in acque internazionali e rimasti in stato di detenzione per oltre una settimana, sono stati espulsi.
In un post su X, il ministero ha dichiarato: “Dopo il completamento delle indagini, i due provocatori professionisti, Saif Abukeshek e Thiago Ávila, appartenenti alla flottiglia delle provocazioni, sono stati espulsi oggi da Israele” E poi ha ammonito: “Israele non permetterà alcuna violazione del legittimo blocco navale di Gaza”.
Secondo fonti della Global Sumud Flotilla, Abukeshek è stato portato ad Atene e da lì sarà trasferito a Madrid: si tratta infatti di cittadino palestinese con passaporto spagnolo. Avila è stato invece accompagnato in Egitto, per poi essere imbarcato su un volo diretto in Brasile, suo Paese d’origine.
La notizia della liberazione dei due leader era arrivata ieri mattina sulle barche della Flotilla dirette in Turchia e aveva dato vita a momenti di festa a bordo.
Abukeshek e Avila erano stati sequestrati nella notte tra il 29 e il 30 aprile con circa altri 180 volontari della Flotilla, nell’inaudita e spregiudicata operazione della Marina israeliana venuta ad assaltare a ovest di Creta, in acque internazionali sotto controllo greco, 22 delle 58 barche partite da Augusta domenica 26. Gli altri erano stati rilasciati dopo maltrattamenti vari su una “nave prigione”, 34 i feriti, mentre i due membri dello Steering Committee della Flotilla erano stati deportati in Israele. Qui hanno fatto sette giorni di carcerazione durissima.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry announced that the two activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla, Saif Abukeshek and Thiago Avila, arrested in international waters and held for over a week, have been expelled.

In a post on X, the ministry stated: “After the completion of the investigation, the two provocateurs, professional provocateurs, Saif Abukeshek and Thiago Ávila, belonging to the flotilla of provocations, were expelled today from Israel” and then warned: “Israel will not allow any violation of the legitimate naval blockade of Gaza.”

According to sources from the Global Sumud Flotilla, Abukeshek was taken to Athens and from there will be transferred to Madrid: he is indeed a Palestinian citizen with a Spanish passport. Avila was instead accompanied to Egypt, from where he boarded a flight directly to Brazil, his country of origin.

The news of the release of the two leaders arrived yesterday morning on the ships of the Flotilla heading to Turkey and gave rise to moments of celebration on board.

Abukeshek and Avila had been seized during the night between April 29 and 30 with approximately 180 volunteers from the Flotilla, in the unprecedented and brazen operation of the Israeli Navy which came to assault west of Crete, in international waters under Greek control, 22 of the 58 boats that left Augusta on Sunday, May 26. The others were released after various mistreatments on a “prison ship,” 34 were injured, while the two members of the Steering Committee of the Flotilla were deported to Israel. Here they spent seven days of harsh imprisonment.

Il Tempo: Corona choc sul ministro israeliano: "Vorrei vederlo con il cappio al collo"

La puntata di martedì 5 maggio di È sempre Cartabianca, su Rete 4, si apre con il consueto dialogo tra la conduttrice Bianca Berlinguer e lo scrittore Mauro Corona. Si parla della morte di Alex Zanardi, che l'autore e alpinista aveva conosciuto ("un uomo di una dolcezza unica e di bontà"), ma anche delle varie tensioni internazionali.
Corona viene chiamato a commentare la vicenda della seconda spedizione della Global Sumud Flotilla, fermata dalla marina israeliana all'altezza dell'isola di Creta con vari attivisti trattenuti in Israele. "È ammirevole questo riprovarci della Flotilla, sapendo bene che non otterranno nulla, ma probabilmente otterranno l'attenzione di nuovo su Gaza che è andata completamente dispersa". Tuttavia, avverte lo scrittore, "questi ragazzi devono anche stare attenti perché lì non vanno da mezze misure. Gente come Netanyahu non ha problemi, e non vorrei che capitasse un altro caso Regeni, perché quelli non scherzano".

E ancora su Ben Gvir: "Spero gli mettano il cappio a lui", ribadisce con Berlinguer che passa ad altro argomento.

I maltrattamenti, secondo quanto testimoniano anche le immagini delle ferite, sono avvenuti proprio a bordo della nave della Marina di Tel Aviv. “Quaranta ore di crudeltà premeditata” viene detto. La violenza, in particolare, sarebbe esplosa quando l’equipaggio della Flotilla ha reagito alla notizia che due di loro – Saif Abukeshek (spagnolo di origini palestinesi) e Thiago Ávila (brasiliano) – non sarebbero sbarcati con tutti gli altri a Creta, ma sarebbero stati “trattenuti” e portati in Israele per essere interrogati.
