We're trying out something new this month: #SimpleX's new "channels" feature. It will be used for project updates - new blog posts, videos, etc. Think of it like an RSS feed directly in your messenger, if you're a SimpleX user.
Note that chatting is not enabled. Communication is one-way.

Previously, a SMP and a XFTP public #SimpleX nodes were set up on Jackdaw, with a common .onion domain name. However, the SimpleX client doesn't easily accept two servers on the same domain name.
These servers are now being replaced by new servers with their own .onion domain name. Feel free to use them if you need. New SMP and XFTP lines are below 👇
Previous servers will be decommissionned later.
"connecting..." below chat, and "can't send messages"
I received a SimpleX link to a chat, and when I click on it, i can see their welcome message template “Thank you for contacting o0o0o0o0. We will respond as soon as possible. Please clearly describe your request here so that we can assist you promptly” Beneath that it says “connecting…” And in the text entry field it says “can’t send messages” If I click in the text entry field I receive a pop up saying “You can’t send messages!” with “ok” to close it. I have gone to settings and selected restart. I have tried on two different devices, VPN on and off. I have left it “connecting…” for over an hour (no change). I have gone to their chat profile and says network status is connected and that “You are connected to the server used to receive messages from this connection” I don’t know what else to check, hoping somebody here will be able to help.
SimpleX 6.5 Brings Public Channels and Independent Foundation
SimpleX 6.5 adds public channels with an interesting privacy model: relays see the messages, but nobody knows who wrote them or who's reading. A new independent foundation will govern the protocol.https://yoota.it/en/simplex-6-5-brings-public-channels-and-independent-foundation/
#SimpleX Channels, SimpleX Network Consortium and Community Crowdfunding — to Preserve Freedom of Speech
Simplex chat themes site bit improved
updated with giscus and theme popularity
The #Fediverese is nice but it still relays on a servers client model and is based on the Internet Protocol (IP). The next independent social platform we build has to learn form #simplex chat and #reticulum.
I think there is still a big need for better privacy and anonymity for both posting and interacting.
We need an architecture that can also providing a revenue stream for people creating valuable things that is not governed by a centralized entity without any cryptobro bullshit. The architecture has to set intensives to store and distribute data to prevent single points of failure in case of censorship.
