The director’s new film risks being cringe even to the devoted, unwavering Manchego fans. Simplifying the film-within-a-film to the extreme, the celebrated director Raúl (Argentinian Leonardo Sbaraglia, A.1’s alter-ego), in a crisis of inspiration, follows a screenwriter, Elsa (Bàrbara Lennie, A.2’s alter-ego), who wants to return to real cinema from advertising spots.
