I received this invitation. (comments at the end)

Dear Colleagues,

The first part of the 5th EUSO Stakeholders Forum will be an online event on 12th June, focussing on the topic "Soil health and EU competitiveness". During this event, case studies from the private sector will show how healthy soils can promote competitiveness in terms of the three pillars:
a) closing the innovation gap
b) decarbonisation and competitiveness
c) reducing excessive dependencies

The event includes presentations from the biotechnology sector, agribusiness, banking-financial sector, remediation industry, start-ups, carbon farming, development of clean products and retail industry.

More information as Agenda, Speakers and Registration can be found in the page:

Kind Regards,
Panos PANAGOS, PhD.

Scientific/Research Officer
Project Leader of EU Soil Observatory (EUSO)

My thoughts:
Ok, we need urgently more awareness about soils. We need more #OrganicAgriculture, #RegenerativeAgriculture, #AgroecologicalTransition, #CommunitySupportedAgriculture and much more. What we *definitely* don't need, is a meeting with NOT A SINGLE FARMER, but people from Syngenta, Bayer, Nestlé and a bunch of other industry representatives to allow them to show that they are trying soo hard to protect our environment while they do everything they can to sabotage meaningful policy changes. Venture capital funded Start-ups and old villains are definitely not the structural change the agrifood-system needs.

Maybe it will still be an informative event, who knows.

Thank you for listening.

For now, I can afford to get a Sonoma Feed box in my area, via a farm that sells locally raised meats. It's a loophole to get the CSA veggie box. My city is sort of a CSA dead zone, but my place of work is not,but still on the fringe.
This veggie box is worth it! There is enough in it to last til the next week. Everything is fresh. I mean, even the week old dill is still "fresh" as well as the sugar snap peas. WTF is the stuff at the grocery store!? I can now taste the difference and. I am so done with "fresh" produce that dies in a day or two. This is money saving as well because you actually WANT to eat the stuff. I've started eating a wider variety of veggies too. My super taster/smeller partner is in heaven. Even the Meats are really fresh, duh, but then again, how long has. Grocery store meat been traveling from farm to table? He actually enjoyed a burger for the first time!
I'm super happy with this set up, super happy to taste really fresh food, super happy there is a loophole that lets me get a box. I'm also really pissed at what consumers are exposed to in grocery stores, and how limited, not fresh, not tasty things are. It's not a good model of commerce nor good for the people. It's also obvious how wealthy areas can sustain this and not wealthy areas can't, or aren't catered too. This produce box should be available to all.

#mosegaardenjordbrug #csa #faellesskabsbaseretjordbrug #communitysupportedagriculture
Wanted to share this playlist last monday for the launch of libra season but i might have been busy involved in an agriculture and climate justice camp in the north of Germany that prevented me for doing it earlier. A mass action civil disobedience was planned that aimed to blockade the entrance of the monster synthetic fertilizer company Yara and succeeded so for 28 hours.
Agriculture and climate justice struggle is at the intersection of many crucial fights i feel attached to. Worldwide food sovereignty, indigenous rights in the global south and border politics go hand by hand. And we need to address the responsibility of the huge agrobusiness corporations that keep violating our lands and stealing from discriminated populations through their colonial and extractivist projects.
Globalised capitalism is a calamity, and i pray for all kinds of whitewashed ecofascist movements to wake up quickly.

Lol, with this, enjoy the music. The playlist is called “Planting seeds with my feet” and it is available on Spotify. It’s around one hour of mainly newly released sad music for the rainy first days of fall.
Link in bio, so intense, but how else can i share it. 🍂🍂🍂🍂

We’re starting a farm csa for the first time, and it’s a place that specializes in providing food during the winter. And the produce is GOREGEOUS!! Please look at the beautiful cauliflower!!! I could hardly bear to break it up for cooking (next time I’ll roast one whole, the beauty!) What incredible county there is in our local farming communities! #csa #communitysupportedagriculture although I rly feel like its #agriculturesupportingcommunity #vegetable #susag

Today’s haul from the farm share leaves me feeling like I’m getting away with something. I see stuffed squash, pepper and meatball stew, stir fries, and pickled daikon radishes in my family’s future.

#Grateful for the abundance.

Step one in making super tasty hot sauce: fermenting the chili peppers in a 4% salt brine.
