As a personal note, it is my birthday this weekend.
While I appreciate well wishes (faves on this post or a short reply is great, even if we've never interacted!), what I really want is more boston community on the fediverse.
So: this weekend, I hope you'll take a few minutes to (re)connect with a friend or neighbor, and ask about how their social media newsfeed has been treating them, because the world has been a doozy of late. If their experience haven’t been super positive, I ask that you let them know that our fediverse community is welcoming, and hopefully a breath of fresh air.

Monday - Marathon Day, from #hopkinton to #Boston, the 129th one. Expect traffic and confused out-of-towners, be kind and patient if you can.
If you’re an out of towner visiting for the race, seriously, welcome. Locals may come off as reserved or surly but if you have a problem, wow, do we have your back.
If you give us a chance to extend to you kindness, we’ll exceed expectations.
Assuming you’re not doing something so stupid like wearing a cap saying Yankees or maga, oof, then you’ll get no love.
