🇺🇸American Volunteer: #Fitness Challenge & My Message to #Odesa, #Ukraine 🇺🇦💪🏽

🌄Finishing Day 3 #volunteering with Coast of Life and I found a familiar place, a simple outdoor exercise park right by the iconic Potemkin Stairs.

😅Did a few commando pull-ups and a one-arm push-up (I’m over 50).

🙏🏽More importantly, I want to use this moment to say a thank you to the people of Odesa treating me with such grace, warmth, and open arms.

This is a neat thing we're trying out in #boston. We've removed all the wetlands along the banks of the Charles and Boston Harbor, so folks are putting floating wetland islands in to hopefully make up for that.

With luck this'll both help pull out some of the excess nutrients that cause algal blooms as well as giving habitat to the critters that eat the algae when it does bloom.

Floating wetlands bring back Boston's natural landscape lost to development

Experts hope a new floating wetland project will bring back natural “edge habitat” that disappeared when developers reshaped Boston’s perimeter with landfill and seawalls. Recreating those destroyed coastal environments can help protect cities as climate change brings rising sea levels, increases stormwater runoff and disrupts ecosystems.
