Shotgun SeamstressI had a playlist going during the zine making session, and every time a #postpunk style song came on, the same person kept asking who the band was. After a while I told her “I think you like post-punk” and she was like “I don’t know what that is.” I described it as best I could and then put on #GangofFour “Entertainment” and she was sooo into it lol. That’s one of my favorite albums ever (and I hadn’t heard it in a while.) Feels great to turn someone on to your favorite music.

Yeah, this is after Allen & Burnham left, and where the original material dropped off in quality post-Solid Gold, and their "farewell tour", but even with that, they were a formidable live act, and Sara Lee & Steve Goulding were a solid rhythm section.
Boy, I miss Gill's incredibly distinctive guitar work.

Gang of Four - Shrinkwrapped
After the just-not-good Hard, I don't think I expected GoF to ever release another vital album, and Mall looked to put a nail in that particular coffin, but then they proved me wrong with Shrinkwrapped.
Never expected it to come out vinyl, either. Not mad about it!
Gill/King are joined by Dean Garcia (Curve), Phil Butcher, and Monti & Dave Axford.
