I had a bit of a deep dive with WSPR beacon work this weekend. I ran test on my own station, and got it band hopping.

It was great to see the results from my own station at different times, and also figuring out how to filter by my gridsquare on wspr.rocks for on demand current local conditions!

wspr.rocks and the other third party sites are some of the most exciting discoveries in a while for me. this is a lot of fun lol

I've been playing WSPR while I tidy my apartment today and I actually made it out to Scotland and the Netherlands on 17m. Unfortunately I couldn't copy anything on this particular band.

It's interesting that my sending seems to be much stronger than my reception and that's good to know.

Leaving the 705 running WSPR on 80 into the Chameleon Loop tonight. Loop is sat in the loft. 1 Watt.

Will leave it on until 10am tomorrow.

Last night’s ferrite #MagLoop antenna test was a success, but barely. Got #WSPR decodes of only 1 station, <700km.

MUCH more detail in the ALT text.

Next ferrite rod loop RX #antenna test setup for #160meters has the ferrite rod taped to the window so that half the world isn’t blocked by the metal-cased ham gear on the workbench. Eager to see how #WSPR does overnight.
Tonight’s (already running) A/B #HamRadio #antenna test is #160m #WSPR (RX only) between 6-80 #DXCommander vertical & this ferrite rod magnetic loop, indoors, on my bench.

The only problem with my mobile #QRP setup is that if I try to connect to the internet via phone tethering or hotspot, eventually #WSJTX or my radio somehow kills my USB system and I have to reboot to get any USB devices to show again.

But other than that, it's marvelous. I was heard in Australia on #WSPR over 20m this afternoon.
