After two failed attempts, I finally activated Whitaker Peak!
I’ll be camping in West Virginia in EM97 this week. Going to try to work the #MagicBand with this “thrift store” ham stick dipole and a QMX+.
Is #WestVirginia rare in others’ logs? I hadn’t been able to get it in my last 1.5 years as a Technician.

For me, I've carried my Elecraft KX3, with built-in ATU in a bag on local hikes, with a wire dipole and thin coax feed, and a cheap computer headset.
I've used it for QRP HF mobile with a 10m whip on the car roof.
Biggest issues usually not radio!
I've forgotten headset. A charged battery. Power cable. Audio adapter cable. Clamp for dipole wire. Logbook. Small tarp for rain and sun. Foam pad to sit on!
