This is the last of my four-photo series chronicling a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge on an early morning.

See article with story: https://thenewleafjournal.com/freedom-tower-in-the-fog-from-the-brooklyn-bridge/

Here, I was close to the Manhattan exit of the Bridge. Note that I took this photo at 7:29 AM on September 12, 2022. I took the first photo of the set from the Brooklyn entrance to the Bridge at 7:15 AM. The Brooklyn Bridge is not a long pedestrian Bridge - it should take most people 20-25 to make it across (depending on which entrances/exits are used). Here, I took a picture of the Freedom Tower. Despite being close to it (I estimate it would be about a 20 minute walk from where I am in the photo), the tallest building in the United States is difficult to see with the heavy fog. You can contrast this photo with the earlier photos in the set to see how the fog developed.

Fog, Freedom Tower, and Brooklyn Bridge

On an early morning walk across the Brooklyn Bridge from Brooklyn to Manhattan, I caught some photos of the Freedom Tower in the morning fog.

The New Leaf Journal
This is the third (and best, in my view - pun intended) of four photos in my series of pictures of a foggy Manhattan skyline from the Brooklyn Bridge.

Now compare with the previous photo, which was taken 3-4 minutes earlier: https://pixelfed.social/i/web/post/482585849842562314

The fog and haze are really setting in around the Freedom Tower. It is becoming hard to see. The buildings in front of it, however, are blissfully unaffected.

I am just in front of the first of the Brooklyn Bridge's two towers from the Brooklyn side, facing Manhattan. You can see that the Manhattan skyline is starting to become a bit hazy in the few minutes it took for me to make it to the first tower.

I took this photo at 7:15 AM. It was a touch hazy, but things were mostly clear. You will see in the next photos that visibility decreased throughout my short walk. This will be most evident with the appearance of the Freedom Tower in the background. Here, it is the tallest building and just off center to the left.

It's been a while, but I return with what I think is good content. I took this photo of a ferris wheel from one of the pedestrian walkways on New York City's Triborough Bridge (also known as the R.F.K. Bridge) on June 8, 2019. I used my old Nikon D40 camera for the task. I do not remember the exact location of the wheel itself, but I think that it is on Randall's Island (alternative possibility would be Astoria, Queens). You can read more about the photo in a short article:

https://thenewleafjournal.com/the-ferris-wheel-off-the-triborough-bridge/

I negligently lost the original version of the photo and was left with a degraded version from Google Photos which I downloaded before deleting my photos account. I used a new app called Upscayl to create a bigger version of it.

https://github.com/upscayl/upscayl

I think it came out fairly well, notwithstanding my computer crashing the first time I tried to upscale.

Photograph of the Summit Street Bridge in Brooklyn, NYC. The Brooklyn-Queens Expressway bisects Hicks Street, separating the neighborhood of Columbia Street Waterfront District (where I'm standing) from Carroll Gardens (on the other side of the bridge). The Bridge is one of the five crossings to Columbia Street Waterfront District from Carroll Gardens and Cobble Hill. The church in the background is Sacred Hearts & St. Stephens Roman Catholic Church.

I discussed one walk across the short bridge in an article with more photos, a map, and the history of the structure:

I took this photo of a small plant growing on the Manhattan Bridge pedestrian walkway with my BlackBerry Classic camera in August 2018. I recall that the plant was growing close to the Brooklyn entrance/exit of the bridge. Plants are resourceful, are they not?

I offered some brief additional thoughts in a corresponding article:
