I took this photo on New York City's Brooklyn Bridge with my BlackBerry Classic phone camera on August 12, 2019. This photo is next to the first Manhattan pedestrian exit and close to the second. Back in 2019, the small pedestrian walkway was split between walkers and bikers (the bikes were banished to a separate path in 2021). The Bridge was difficult to navigate without NYC DOT trucks doing trash pickup in broad daylight. My photo does not capture how much it was struggling, but note that the only way around it was for walkers to go into the bike path (left side was for walkers).

I originally took this photo of a green car with a witch's hat in October 2020, and published an article (too late for Halloween) in November 2020. I used my BlackBerry Classic to take the photos. While the Classic camera is capable of some surprisingly good photos, these did not come out well. The article received some traffic of late, so I decided to crop the photos and remaster them with Upscayl. This is now the better of the two.

Felt a bit nostalgic yesterday evening. For newcomers to my profile or those who don't study those hashtags too closely, many of my earlier Pixelfed posts came from my BlackBerry Classic. Most are tagged with #shotonblackberry and #blackberryclassic . The Classic has a decent camera for close-up shots and it works well with the Open Camera App on F-Droid.

Back in June 2020, I came across this three-step portable wooden set of stairs in Columbia Street Waterfront District. As you can see in the picture, the stairs don't appear to lead anywhere. Mysterious.

A butterfly in Battery Park. Manhattan. I took this photo on the morning of June 21, 2019, with my BlackBerry Classic phone camera. I was in Battery Park to see a military flyover of NYC, which came into view a minute or two after I captured the butterfly.
