May 16, 1915: On this date, Stephanie Czech Rader born in Toledo, OH to Polish immigrant parents. She was raised speaking only Polish & struggled in school. Nonetheless, she earned a full scholarship to Cornell University & she graduated with a chemistry degree in 1937. Toward the end of WW2 she joined the Office of Strategic Services. She served in Poland in the post-war period. She died, aged 100, on Jan 21, 2016.
