Cyril Atkin son of Walter Atkin and Harriet Bland. He was born in 1910, Sculcoates, Yorkshire.
He previously lived at 35 Jubilee Road, Wheatley, Doncaster, Yorkshire.
In 1934 he married Ida Gagg in Doncaster, Yorkshire. They lived at 87 Anchorage Lane, Sprotbrough, Yorkshire.
Cyril joined the Royal Artillery. Rank Gunner. Service No. 1467102. Gunner Cyril Atkin died on 14th December 1941, Libya aged 31. Knightsbridge War Cemetery Acroma He was originally buried at Derna, Libya before being reburied in present location on 2nd March 1945.
He was part of the Western Desert during Operation Crusader. #WW2 #history #yorkshire
