Some time ago I was talking to some #cryptographer who was working on a govt study project researching the idea of having your cake and eating it too.
They were basically looking for the best way to put a #backdoor into #encryption, with the idea of it being secure and "private", under the #FBI's "nobody but US" principle.
There's two problems here.
1. the #ethical and #moral implications (ofc)
2. the validity of its #security
Can a backdoor ever really be "safe"?
