Dammit! It’s looking increasingly likely that I have lost my favorite jacket.
That’s one drawback of having ADHD. You lose stuff. And it can be important stuff because your brain does not give a damn how important something is that does not make it more likely to remember it.
I’ve got one place left to look this evening.
It’s a really nice down jacket too. #ADHD.

Ja, ADHS-Medis sind nicht für alle was.
Aber bei mir bringen sie nicht weniger Persönlichkeit, sondern endlich die, die sonst im Dauerrauschen untergeht. Mich gibt’s nämlich auch in nett, statt nur patzig, wirklich! 🤭

My class materials (given to me by the college) have very standard academic advice, some of which, unsurprisingly, is very stressful for ADHD students.

I was looking for something more tailored to the neurodivergent mind and I found this page with some good tips. Some are out of the box, yet I can see them working. Things like (paraphrasing) "turn off your computer monitor to avoid fixating into perfecting every phrase you write".

I honestly think my grad school time would have been less horrible, maybe more good work, if I had known I'm likely AuDHD and seen this type of very practical and non judgemental advice.

I'm gonna try something else to help control stress due to #adhd
OVERPLANNING

I found as new things were added to my plate, even if they were benign, they gave me more and more stress.

I kept fearing that I would drop the ball and not get any of them done, so I filled my mind with them thinking of them over and over.

And it made it hard to sleep. And I was constantly saying "Oh, and I have to do that."

And even when I thought of writing it down, I thought, but what if I lose my book, or what if I haven't thought of everything.

I have a very busy schedule for the next couple months, so I am going to actually try planning lots of details.

Of course, I am not sure if I do this on paper or computer, but I plan to begin with the most urgent things first.

Then things that support them like set up times, and clothing.

I'll tell you how it goes.
