Focus on the Trail - The Beginner's Guide to Trail Running Photography is now PUBLISHED!

You can get your hands on the eBook or Paperback here https://amzn.eu/d/18IiRVj

My aim with this book, help trail runners, mountain runners and ultra marathoners slow down, enjoy the natural world that little bit more and hopefully help them take better photos of their adventures on this wonderful magic planet we all share.

I share 70+ of my own photographs i've taken on my own adventures and walk you through the basics of landscape, nature and photographing trail runners on the trail so you can hopefully take better photos of your adventures, your friends and what you see around you.

Here are some of those photos from the book which I use in specific examples throughout.

I believe this book is the first of its kind, aimed at trail runners and those that move through environments lightly and swiftly.

I want to thank so many people, events, the trail itself as this book otherwise would not have been possible.

Rachel, my wife, the most kindest and adventurous human. You have helped in so many ways to get this book out and I dedicate the book to you.

To all those i've shared the trail with, those that have supported my work with Kelp and Fern, i've met some beautiful people out there on the trail and I thank you all for those special moments.

Diolch pawb!

This is Paul Youd, an 87 year old vegan ultra-runner that I had the honour of documenting his latest ultra-marathon adventure, 50km around the city of Bath!

You read that right, 87 years old, VEGAN and smashing ultras!

He was supported by @runningonplants and their team and everyone made it to the finish line, inspired by Paul and his story! Make sure to check out their wonderful organisation.

A film will be in the works of this adventure to watch at www.youtube.com/@kelpandfern in the coming weeks and you'll learn more about Paul and why he went vegan and how he got in to running later on in life.

Stories like this are supported by members and small donations from people like you and I am proud that Kelp and Fern is not sponsored or supported by brands which means that I can document stories exactly like this, which otherwise wouldn't happen.

Please consider supporting at ko-fi.com/kelpandfern on Patreon.com/kelpandfern or becoming a member on the Youtube channel.

Beautiful ride yesterday. Did I look wistfully at runners out for their long run as I rode? Yes! But I took solace in the fact that I would be back at it today.

Two weeks since my 67.5km adventure, I am kicking off another block. A 50km official race in August and then taper for another crack at 80km. It felt so good to be out running today that I welled up cresting the first rise. Heading into this block with a few new tricks - reviewing and revising my nutrition. Working my way through two recipe books, testing them out on my belly: I had pickle juice on today's run! Going to bring back cycling as my x-training. Not doing triathlon since the start of the pandemic means I cycle less and that's to my detriment. Going to rectify that this block.

Felt good to be out there today on legs that road yesterday. Excited for this block and another crack at breaking 80km!
