Peacock (Aglais io) - one of the earliest butterflies to appear in the spring, they hibernate as adults. I often find them in sheds in the winter, if you stay around them for too long, they make a rasping noise, possibly to deter predators

Common Lizard at Newton St Loe, near #Bath #Somerset #UK. I spotted this one basking on a tree root in a hedgerow by the side of a lane. For 10 years, I used to walk down that lane on my way to and from work, but never saw one there before - so it took me by surprise.

Methana Hot Springs
Das ehemalige Kurbad entstand im 19. Jhd, als Methana als Thermalort mit Heilbädern und Pensionen gezielt vermarktet wurde. Damals suchten Gäste hier Linderung bei Haut- und Atemwegserkrankungen. Inzwischen ist das Kurhaus zum Lost Place verfallen: rostige Geländern, verblasste Fassaden und eben dieses fast unwirklich milchig-türkis schimmernde Schwefelwasser, in dem heute niemand mehr badet.

Courtship feeding has begun! My 4 year-old Robin friend Little Mate has started taking gifts of food to his new girlfriend Willow. She frequently makes a specific call, similar to the one hungry Robin chicks make, which he responds to by bringing food. When enough food is coming her way, she'll build a nest, and he'll continue feeding her while she's on the nest. In #Bath #Somerset #UK.

Juniper Shieldbug (Cyphostethus tristriatus). Formerly an uncommon species that fed exclusively on Juniper, it has recently switched to feeding on cypresses and is now becoming fairly common. Found by the cypresses on Lower Bristol Road, #Bath.
