🇵🇱🚄🛤️ #Alstom has marked the 100th anniversary of its #Katowice signalling and #railway control site, one of Europe’s key rail signalling centres. The facility employs around 1,100 specialists and develops systems securing and managing traffic on half of Poland’s 19,500 km rail network. It has expanded engineering capacity and testing facilities, including laboratory ERTMS system trials, and supports projects across #Europe and beyond, including #Germany, #Sweden and #Croatia. Founded in 1926 and later known as ZWUS, the site evolved from early telecom and signalling production into advanced digital rail solutions. Since joining in 2021, it has strengthened integration while maintaining local expertise and cooperation with #Polish universities. It also supports major modernisation projects such as Warszawa Zachodnia and Port Gdynia. Looking ahead, it focuses on digitalisation, automation and high-speed rail to improve capacity and efficiency across rail networks.
