Otherwise known as 'the St. Petersburg Effect' . The logical outcome of which would be for the government to provide safe investments - such as gilts and #nationalsavings - for the less well off and to balance this out by investing in high risk areas itself! This was a policy towards which the #uk was moving half a century ago - before the advent of #margaretthatcher . An example of a road not taken ?
