Making sure you're not a bot!

If you post opinion columns with clearly genocidal opinions you are signaling you view that as a valid part of the discussion. You can't post a bunch of "ethnic cleansing is good" "should women be working" on and on articles while refusing to post plenty of others and escape criticism because "it's the opinion section".

Watched a YouTube video of a regular type guy ranting about gas prices and grocery bills, being unable to make ends meet, the end of the American Dream. He closed by blaming all of it on giving away "our money" for #socialism. No matter how bad things get, these people will never, ever learn.

In the 1700 and 1800s, vampire legends had quite an influence on political, social and economic discourse. Karl Marx, who enjoyed reading horror tales for relaxation at bedtime, wrote: "Capital is dead labour that, vampire-like, only lives by sucking living labour, and lives the more, the more labour it sucks." He also referred to "the were-wolf's hunger for surplus labour" and stated that "the prolongation of the working day quenches only in a slight degree the vampire thirst for the living blood of labour." In an eerie prediction of 'Dracula' , Marx compared industrial relations to the relationship between peasants and "the Wallachian Boyard". The boyard (or aristocrat) he had in mind was none other than Vlad Tepes - otherwise known as Vlad the Impaler, the model for Bram Stoker's Count Dracula. #Gothic #literature #folklore #weird #marxism #socialism #history #books #vampires #vampire #horror

Ben Lerner Hears Ghosts in the Wires

Critics read Ben Lernerโ€™s new novel, Transcription, as a commentary on smartphones. But with gothic style and a Victorian temperament, it meditates on a much older technology โ€” the spectral quality of disembodied speech introduced at the dawn of telephonics.
