Morning, all,

with the 'clear and present danger' posed across the Pond by the thieving, grievance-collecting, pathologically-lying, deluded, demented, malignantly narcissistic, racist, rapist, imperialist white supremacist (who you just know'd be more likely than Putin to use his nuclear codes to damn all the rest of us when he has to go), it's easy to forget Nigel Farage is just Donald Jesus Trump's Mini-Me.

But sans the charm, wit and rizz of the original...

Farage deploys the rottweiler to distract from awkward £5m gift story

"38 million people (many Muslims) killed by the US and Europe over 50 years due to sanctions.

If Muslims had killed 38 million people over the last 50 years, no Westerner would hesitate to take this as evidence that they are a deeply cruel people and a threat to the human race."

These numbers don't include people killed directly in the wars and genocides committed by the West and its allies.

But remember kids, Putin is the Devil and China is the Enemy.

In an interview with BBC News, Nigel Farage said "I have been the most attacked, physically, politician of modern times".

The Reform UK leader says the gift was "purely private" and "wasn't political in any sense at all".

Dozens of councillors have left Reform over the past year. They tell us why

As Nigel Farage heralds a year of growth in councillors since last May’s local elections, the party can’t ignore its challenge in keeping them, with almost 70 lost. Alex Ross speaks to some of those who have left the party and asks why

A quick guide to the main English parties in case you're not familiar:

  • Reform UK Ltd: Blatant lies to your face to benefit Farage's mates
  • Conservatives: Lies to your face because traditional
  • Labour: Lies for votes
  • Liberal Democrats: Probably not capable of lying so an unfortunate clownish mistake
  • Green Party: Won't lie to you but you may not like the truth

I feel bad for Lucas and others from the party's previous era. They worked hard to legitimise their party and prove seriousness, culminating with their best ever electoral performance last year.

But to expect solid action on the antisemitism in the party — as well as its other problematic missteps — is to misunderstand the populism of the day. They're running to where these people are as a strategic choice and aren't likely to back off.
