Some data (from private health providers) suggests young people are more willing to use private health care when the NHS fails to provide swift solutions to their health concerns/conditions.

On one hand, the source of the data is hardly disinterested & as such may also be a form of propaganda.... but on the other hand if the trend is at least partially correct, then the political engineers of the NHS crisis *are* seeing their work pay dividends (to private healthcare)

#ClimateDiary I am a Republican too, so definitely not posting this to say “Charles is good after all”, but wanted to record here this description (by a friend of mine) of the King hosting a St James Palace #ClimateActionWeek event (i imagine it was one?) on methane reduction yesterday sweating in the #Heatwave. It is moment for Climate Diary, I feel.

You may recall I posted recently on the highly focussed character of the claimed productivity benefits of Palantir's technology in the NHS (mostly happening in one London hospital); now NHS England has quietly admitted that it actually does not have robust evidence to link any wider rises in efficacy & performance to Palantir's software....

So, just to be clear; their claims are just than, claims unsupported by evidence - which further suggests political interference!

Here's a law suit that many will be wanting to succeed... the Govt. is taking legal action to recover the the over ÂŁ100 millions it was charged by PPE Medpro for faulty medical gear, from the company's directors & beneficial owners - which includes Baroness Mone!

Lets hope the Govt. lawyers succeed!

The most likely successor to #sirkeirstarmer - #andyburnham - graduated from #cambridge university - which would take the #cambridge total to four.
Since 1900 the #uk has had twenty seven #primeministers - and may soon get a twenty eighth. I checked their educational background. No fewer than sixteen of them had degrees from the same university - #oxford . A further six were not university graduates. A further three had degrees from #cambridge university . The remaining two had degrees from #birmingham and #edinburgh universities respectively. There was a gap of nearly thirty years when the #primeminister was not an #oxford graduate.

So let's put the suggestion that the UK is a highly taxed country to rest.... those who argue the UK's tax burden is too much and needs to be reduced to promote economic revival, need to reckon with all the countries in the OECD who are taxing more that the UK's share of GDP but have yet to have seemingly descended into economic decline....

Rather we might want to argue that a better funded public sector might actually aid the escape from the UK's economic doldrums.
