On the one hand - People using gendered pronouns to refer to animals(she/they/he) and calling them "pets" is a clear sign of our care for them and the positive progression of human consciousness(animal violence becoming more and more disgusting to people globally)
On the other hand.. #Infantilization of this #marginalized group can be regressive. Animals are not human children, and one does not simply purchase a new member of the family. They act as such because they are simply not aware that by law they are their "owner's" property (I have much issue with the term #owner in this way and find it gross)
Our relationship with dogs shows this concept throughout history. The name Fido, which is a common dog name, translates to "Faithful". To be measured by your faithfulness is something I can certainly relate to as a #woman ... defined by our ability to stand by "our man", our child, a religion.. The word b**** being a homonym for both a female dog sex slave and a woman.. (Cont. in thread)
