The quake may have been felt in Castlepoint, Dannevirke, Eketahuna, Feilding, Gisborne, Hastings, Hunterville, Levin, Masterton, Matawai, Murupara, Napier, Ohakune, Palmerston North, Pongaroa, Porangahau, Taihape, Taumarunui, Taupo, Turangi, Waipukurau, Wairoa, Whanganui, and surrounding localities.
