Severe weather season is ramping up, with the next week looking to be particularly active across the Southern Plains and Ozarks in the U.S. Here are some of my favorite photos from over the years, all captured within an hour or so of home.
While I still try to do at least one larger storm chasing outing per year, allowing me to range further afield, I've come to appreciate opportunities closer to home. In that regard, next week could keep me busy. We'll see!

🌦️ As of this month, Wei-Ting Hsiao is leading the new "Weather-Climate Interaction" group in director Sarah Kang's department. The group will explore the crucial link between #weather & #climate. Using the #ICON climate model, the group will investigate this 2-way relationship, with an initial focus on tropical convection, clouds & the Walker Circulation. 🔎
