Weird Al's style parodies or "pastiches" are often overlooked in favor of direct parodies of songs. I'm not sure if some folks even know he does pastiches, which is a shame.
For every Like a Surgeon there is a Dare to be Stupid which is one of Weird Al's best songs and videos as a style parody of Devo. For every Eat It there is a Mr. Popeil (a pastiche of the B-52s).

Regarding the state of the law: C-18 has received royal assent. It is now Canadian law. The mechanism of enforcement - essentially enforced arbitration to determine how much Facebook and Google should pay - depends on regulations currently being drafted. Once those are complete - perhaps at the new year - payments will be due.

Otherwise ... FB and G. have to come into compliance with the law. They can choose to do it today, and that's fine.
