Almost time to plant potatoes! Most of these sprouted eyes are from potatoes leftover from last year's harvest. Some are new varieties for us we purchased at our local coop.

This year I'm trying something new. I'm planting our potatoes in grow bags instead of in the ground. This should save me from the hilling I would need to do and give me more space in my garden. As I get older I continue to try things that don't make my body scream.

Common scab on potatoes causes ragged-edged scabs. Prevent it by avoiding lime, adding well-rotted manure/compost, using comfrey leaves in planting holes, and not composting infected peelings. Grow resistant varieties for healthy spuds! #Potatoes
