Under the blanket of autumn.
The forest paths are covered with leaves. I walk carefully so as not to step on the multitude of fungi that live beneath the leaves. When a leaf skips past my feet, I stand still in silence, searching for the skipping leaf. For a moment, I see a flash of brown among the ochre tones of the ground. Among the dry leaves, a small creature watches me. Then it skips again, lightly,
leaving barely a vibration in the air, as if the earth had just breathed.

Kurnutusta, kurnutusta... Croaking in the pond...
Sammakot ovat keräytymässä kutupaikoilleen ja meno alkaa olla railakasta. Koiraita on jo paljon paikalla ja niiden kurnutus kutsuu naaraita metsien kätköistä lammelle. Onnekkaimmat pääsevät naaraiden lähelle ja saavat hyvän otteen, muut koittavat kisailla naaraan itselleen tai odottavat "sitä oikeaa"...
Tekee hyvää istahtaa metsälammen reunalle, seurata sammakoita ja hengähtää syvään. Elämä jatkuu, kaikista poliittisista väännöistä ja Trumpin järjettömyyksistä huolimatta. Suosittelen ruutuajan sijasta luontoretkiä! 🙂

Common frogs are gathering at their breeding pond and things are getting "hot". There were already a lot of males in the water and their mating calls invite females from the forest to join. Luckiest frogs get close to the females and have a tight grip, while others try to compete to mate or just wait for "the right one".
